Lucy Hale was born Karen Lucille Hale on 14. June 1989 in Memphis, Tennessee. Her mother was a nurse named Julie Knight who was married to Preston Hale. The couple had an older daughter named Maggie and decided to name their newborn after one of their great-grandmothers. Lucy Hale also had a stepsister named Kirby. She grew up in school and took acting and singing lessons in her free time. As the actress found out herself, young Lucy Hale also suffered from an eating disorder.
